MISSION, ORGANIZATION, PLANS

MISSION
Our mission is to establish and improve each individual boy' social, academic and athletic behaviors and skills. We will emphasis the importance of teamwork and fundamentals on the basketball court along with the following:
  • The value of individual excellence in the classroom
  • The need to be respectful and a good citizen both athletically, personally and academically
  • Individual and team growth through participation in Brighton Travel Basketball
FUNDING
Funding for Brighton Travel Basketball will come from player fees, our annual Brighton Spring Basketball Classic held each April, the winter BTB basketball clinic and any available fund raisers. These fees will offset the costs associated with gym rental, tournament entry fees, uniforms, and equipment. Players and/or parents who may be in need of financial assistance to meet the annual player fee should advise Brighton Travel Basketball. Every effort will be made to provide financial assistance to those players and/or parents who request and establish the need for financial assistance.
ORGANIZATION
Brighton Travel Basketball formed its first board during the 2003 season and established a Board of Officers and club policies and procedures. The board intends to meet semi-annually and proactively seeks assistance and input from local school coaches.
TEAMS
Brighton Travel Basketball has been organized to create a competitive basketball environment for local area youths. Brighton Travel Basketball will hold annual tryouts each season in order to form new teams for the following grades: 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th.

Travel will be required and mostly limited to within a 200-mile radius from Brighton. Depending on the age of a team in our organization, a season typically runs from mid-November to the end of March. 7th - 11th grade teams will start their seasons after the public school basketball season ends and could continue to as late as mid-June.
COACHES
Coaches for Brighton Travel Basketball Teams will be selected by the Board of Officers and will be reviewed annually.
